Read the touch log and grades
Rally rows, the grade symbols (# + ! - / =), the EPA column, and every little glyph explained.
The touch log lists every touch in the match, grouped by rally. On a desktop it sits beside the film; on a phone, below it (with the film pinned on top while you scroll). Tap any row and the film jumps there, landing just before the touch so you see the whole action.
The rally rows
Each rally gets a header: "Rally 12", the score entering it ("S2 · 14–11" — a ~ means the score was inferred from serve order), and its touch count and length. A rally whose serve wasn't detected shows a dimmed "Serve — not detected" placeholder; it carries no stats.
The grade symbols
Grades use the scout convention. The tier names, as Skyball shows them:
#— Kill / perfect+— Positive!— Marginal-— Negative/— Poor / blocked=— Error
What a symbol *means* depends on the skill — a # attack is a kill, a # reception is a perfect pass, a / serve was overpassed. A bare bold symbol is a human's grade; a boxed symbol is Skyball's pre-grade (dashed box = a model suggestion) — grade the touch yourself to confirm or change it, see editing touches.
+++ ++ + − −− −−− — and college preview programs start on the scout symbols above; Account → Grade marks switches either way. On the simple ladder a triple means the rally ended on that touch: +++ is an ace, a kill or a stuff block, and −−− is any error. A pass, dig or set can't win the point, so a perfect one tops out at ++. The grades underneath don't change — exports, stats and everyone else's view keep the scout symbols. The EPA column
Each touch shows its point value: +0.07 means the touch added about seven hundredths of a point versus average. Green is positive, red negative. A struck-through number means the touch was edited after processing — the value belongs to the original tag. The full story of EPA and WPA is in match analytics.
The small glyphs
?— needs review: Skyball wasn't confident about this tag. The "needs review" filter chip collects them all.…— a probable missed touch earlier in the rally; coaches can click it to add the touch.+— a touch added by a coach.✎— a touch corrected by a coach.💬3— three comments on this touch.- A small heart — you liked it.
