Watch film in the review player

Play, pause, scrub, change speed, and move touch by touch through a match.

Open any processed match from Film → Library (tap the card, or its Watch button) and it opens in the review player at Film → Review. The player and the touch log are two views of the same thing: tap a touch in the log and the film jumps there; watch the film and the log follows.

Play, pause, and scrub

  1. Tap the film itself to play or pause. On a desktop, space (or c) does the same.
  2. The scrub bar sits at the bottom of the film — drag it or tap anywhere on the track to seek. While the film is playing, the bar fades out after a couple of seconds so it never covers the play; tap the film once to bring it back.
  3. Film always starts muted. The speaker button on the bar turns sound on — it is the only way back, so if you hear nothing, that is the button to look for.

Moving through the match

  • On a phone, a five-button strip sits under the film: −3 and +3 skip three seconds back or forward, « and » jump to the previous or next serve, and the middle button cycles playback speed.
  • On a desktop, ◀ prev touch / next touch ▶ on the bar (or the j / k keys) step one touch at a time, and d / f jump serve to serve.
  • Once you filter the touch log (say, one player's attacks), « and » walk the filtered touches instead of serves — the film plays only what you asked for. See filtering the touch log.

Speed and frame stepping

  • The speed button cycles 1.0× → 0.5× → 0.2× — half speed to read a play, a fifth to read a contact.
  • On a desktop, x and v step a single frame back or forward (the film pauses first, since a frame step while running is invisible).

On a phone

The film stays pinned under the header while you scroll the touch list, so tapping a play deep in the list never means scrolling back up to a film that already moved on. Rotate the phone or use the fullscreen button for the big view — see fullscreen mode.

Tip: press ? on a desktop for the complete shortcut list, or read keyboard shortcuts.
