Fullscreen viewing

The fullscreen button sits at the right end of the film's control bar (on a desktop, the \ key does the same). On phones the film turns to fill the screen in landscape even while you hold the phone upright.

The side rails

In fullscreen the controls move to round buttons along the screen edges, sized for thumbs:

• Left rail: −3 (back 3 seconds), « (previous serve, or previous filtered touch), the speed button, and ＋ — add the rally under the playhead to a playlist (see playlists and clips).
• Right rail: +3, » (next serve), the Filters button (opens the filter drawer — see filtering the touch log), and the Comments bubble with an unread count (see comments and @mentions).

Getting out

Leaving fullscreen is deliberate — a stray tap near the screen edge will not eject you mid-rally. Any of these exits:

• the ✕ button in the top-left corner,
• Escape on a desktop,
• the phone's back gesture or the browser's Back button,
• turning the phone upright (back to portrait).

Fill vs. letterbox

A 16:9 film on a taller phone screen has to give something up. By default the film fills the screen, cropping a little of the top and bottom. Double-tap the film to switch to letterbox (the whole frame, with bars) and back.

Comments while you watch

When the film reaches a moment someone commented on, the comment slides in along the bottom for a few seconds. Tap it to open the full thread; while you type a reply, the film pauses and resumes where it left off. Details in comments and @mentions.
