Read a match's analytics
The Traditional box score and the Advanced view — including what EPA and WPA actually mean.
Open Stats and the latest match loads (or pick one — the picker also lets you tick several matches into one combined view). Every number on the page is computed live from the match's touch log; nothing is hand-entered. Open in review → jumps to the film.
Start by checking "My team" — the side that started near the camera is the default, and one click fixes it if that's wrong.
The Traditional tab
The classic box score, one team at a time, with skill tabs (All · Serve · Reception · Attack · Set · Dig · Block) that swap in each skill's own columns. The Column key under the table defines every abbreviation in plain words — kills (K), hitting efficiency (PCT), aces (SA), passer rating (RTG), and the rest. Outcome columns are derived from rally flow (the winner of a rally serves the next one), so no scoreboard is needed.
Touches without a name land in an Unidentified row rather than being guessed — mapping them is player identification.
The Advanced tab
The lens the box score misses: kill counts weight every attack the same, while EPA and WPA weight each touch by how much it actually moved the score and the match.
- EPA — Expected Points Added. How many points a player produced compared with what an average player would get from the same situations, summed over the match. +3 means about three points better than average.
- WPA — Win Probability Added. How much a player's touches changed the team's chance of winning. +10% means their touches moved the team from, say, a 50% chance to 60%.
Hover (or tap) the WPA and EPA column headers in the app for these same definitions. The Advanced tab holds:
- a KPI strip — touches, rallies, Team EPA, Team WPA, sideout rate, and how much of the match is identified;
- Impact leaders — everyone who touched the ball, sorted by EPA, negatives included (players who cost their team are visible, not hidden);
- Skill impact — EPA per player on one skill at a time, total or per-100-touches;
- High-leverage moments — the biggest win-probability swings, each a link into the film;
- Match momentum — the win-probability curve across the whole match.
What's open on which plan
