Edit, grade, and correct touches

Fix a wrong tag, grade a match with the keyboard, add a touch Skyball missed — the coach's toolkit.

Skyball's tags are a starting point; coaches (owners and admins, on the full plan tier) can correct anything. Every edit is reversible — "Revert to Skyball's tag" is always there.

Fix one touch

Press the pencil on a touch row (hover on desktop, select the row on phone):

  1. Pick the team (A / B / —), the jersey, and the skill (Serve, Reception, Dig, Set, Attack, Block, Freeball rcv, Freeball sent).
  2. Save — or Delete touch, or Revert to Skyball's tag to discard every edit on it.

Edited touches are marked with a on the row, and stats they feed show the correction (see the touch log).

Mark a fault — the referee's call

Some rallies end on the whistle, not on a playable ball — a net touch, a foot fault, a lift — and no camera can prove it, so Skyball never guesses one. When you saw the call, record it: open the pencil on the offending player's touch and press Ended on a fault…, then pick the call (Net touch, Centerline, Foot fault, Double contact, Lift / carry, Four hits, Reach over, Back-row attack, Rotation / overlap, or Other).

A fault settles the rally: the score counts it as the other team's point, and the stats stop inferring a hitting or serve error off whatever touch happened to be last — the mis-charge those rallies otherwise cause. (A foot fault still counts as a service error, as every box score books it.) The row shows the call in red; pick the same chip again in the editor to clear it.

Grade a whole match — edit mode

Press Edit (or the e key). The workspace gets an amber frame and a grading bar with six chips:

  • a = # Kill / perfect, s = + Positive, d = ! Marginal, f = - Negative, g = / Poor / blocked, h = = Error.

Grade a touch and it advances to the next one automatically — a full match grades in one pass of the keyboard. Also in the bar: "ungraded only" to skip what's done, then enter deletes a touch, ⇧⌫ clears a grade, p then a jersey or name changes who touched it, t then the skill's letter (shown beside each option; e = Set) changes the touch, ⇧T + digits fixes a touch's identity. Leave with Done editing or Esc. The full key list is in keyboard shortcuts.

Add a touch Skyball missed

Two doors:

  • The glyph on a flagged row — Skyball suspects a missed touch earlier in that rally; clicking pre-fills the form.
  • "+ add touch here" in the edit-mode bar — captures wherever the playhead is.

Pick the team, player, and skill, press Add touch. Coach-added touches are marked + on the row and count in the stats like any other touch.

Bulk fixes

  • A misread jersey: filter to that jersey and use the "Should be…" bar → Reassign all.
  • A borrowed number for one match: the "Did a player wear a different number this match?" link — both described in player identification.
